The box shell door of the box-type substation should open outwards, and should have handles, hidden latches and locks. The hidden latches and locks should be rust-proof. The transformer room should be mainly ventilated naturally, and a curve of the relationship between the temperature in the box and the transformer output should be given. The transformer room can be equipped with a room temperature monitoring device and a self-starting ventilation and cooling device as needed to ensure that the transformer operates at full load under the specified environmental conditions. The transformer should be able to enter and exit from the top of the box or the side door. The noise level of the box-type substation should not be greater than the specified transformer noise level. Regardless of whether the box shell is made of metal or non-metallic materials, the metal frame of the box body should have good grounding, a grounding terminal, and a grounding symbol.
The box-type substation is mainly cooled by natural wind circulation. Therefore, no illegal stacking of objects around it is allowed, especially the transformer room door should not be blocked, and the attachments on the shutter vents should be frequently removed to ensure that all electrical equipment does not exceed the maximum allowable temperature. After the low-voltage circuit breaker trips, the cause of the trip should be checked before the power can be sent. If the power is not sent successfully, the cause of the fault must be thoroughly found, and power can only be sent after it is eliminated to prevent the accident from expanding. Zinc oxide lightning arresters should be installed in the high-voltage distribution room of the box-type transformer, and the installation method must be convenient for testing, disassembly and replacement.
The grounding and neutral lines of the box-type substation share a grounding grid. The grounding grid is generally connected by grounding piles at the four corners of the foundation. There must be two reliable connections between the box-type substation and the grounding grid. After the box-type substation is put into operation, the grounding connection should be checked frequently to ensure that it is not loose or rusted. The grounding resistance value should be measured regularly, and the grounding resistance should not be greater than 4Ω. The ring network switches, transformers, lightning arresters and other equipment in the high-voltage distribution device of the box-type substation should be inspected and maintained regularly, and defects should be repaired in time, and insulation preventive tests should be carried out regularly. If the box-type substation is out of service for more than 3 months, a full preventive test should be carried out before it is put into operation again. When replacing a high-voltage fuse without breaking capacity, the transformer must be powered off, the mechanical interlock must be correctly released during operation, and an insulating operating rod must be used. All inlet and outlet cable holes of the box-type substation should be blocked to prevent small animals from entering and causing accidents.
